Looking after it
Care
Embroidery lasts when it is treated gently. This is the short version; the listing for your jacket names its exact fabric, and that care label always wins.
Washing
- Spot clean first. A damp cloth and a drop of mild soap lift most marks without a full wash.
- If it needs a full wash, turn it inside out and wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Skip bleach and fabric softener.
- Do not tumble dry. Reshape it and dry it flat, or hang it away from direct sun.
- If a label says dry clean only, follow it.
Ironing
Iron on the reverse, on a warm setting, with a thin cloth between the iron and the stitching. Never press directly on the embroidery: heat can flatten the thread.
Storing
- Hang it on a wide, shaped hanger or fold it loosely. Do not leave it crushed at the bottom of a bag.
- Keep it somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight, which fades colour over time.
- For long-term storage use a breathable cotton bag, not plastic.
Looking after the embroidery
- Zip and fasten everything before washing so nothing catches.
- Keep it away from hook-and-loop fasteners (Velcro) and rough straps that can snag the thread.
- If a thread pulls, do not tug or cut it. Message us and we will look at it.
Our care promise
- Free alterations within 14 days of delivery, so a jacket that is nearly right becomes right.
- Repairs for life. If a seam opens or a stitch gives way, we will repair it.
- Honest materials. The fabric and thread are named on every listing, and the advice above is written for them.
To use any of this, message us on WhatsApp and tell us which jacket it is and what is wrong. Because all sales are final, please also read our returns page.
